Kennedy Cabin at High Falls is a lovely mountaintop retreat for up to 6 people. Originally built in the 1800s, the cabin has been moved and renovated several times, ultimately coming to rest here at High Falls. Historically preserved with original wood and stone features, such as the beautiful indoor staircase, and period-appropriate decor, the home has also been modernized with a conveniences needed for a restful getaway.
Begin your vacation morning with a cup of coffee on a front porch rocker or on a comfortable garden chair on the separate outdoor patio with sweeping bluff views of the Tennessee Valley Divide. Nestled in the forest, you are likely to hear nothing but birds in the trees overhead, wildlife running through the woods, and the trickling water of Town Creek.
Cook up lunch in the comfortable kitchen, with its cozy fireplace and gorgeous live-edge countertop. A truly unique space! After lunch, relax with a book or one of several provided games in the roomy living room. Evening is the perfect time to fire up the grill and enjoy a home-cooked dinner beside the outdoor fireplace. Gear up for a restful night of sleep in one of two luxurious bedrooms; the master contains a king bed and the second bedroom has a double bed and two twin beds. Both bedrooms share access to a hallway bathroom and a second bathroom can be found downstairs.
Kennedy Cabin is the quintessential nature experience, surrounded by forest and sweeping views. This is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. Whether your days are filled with lounging in nature or adventuring nearby, reserve your evening for sinking into the property’s hot tub, set atop an elevated deck overlooking the bluff, and feel your cares slip away.
There is plenty of parking space for a boat trailer onsite, so be sure to bring your boat to enjoy on nearby Lake Guntersville.
Kennedy Cabin at High Falls is a quiet spot to relax, but close to many things to do you if you prefer an action-packed vacation. 30 minutes from the property is Guntersville, Alabama, with plenty of dining and shopping options. 30 minutes in the other direction is Bucks Pocket State Park and High Falls Park, both with plenty of hiking trails.
Take a spa day in Guntersville, take the boat out for water skiing, or gear up for an adventure like rock climbing, mountaineering, or horseback riding, all in the surrounding area. Sit back with a fishing pole or swing a golf club for a bit. Cycle, hunt, raft, kayak, swim, shop, birdwatch, or waterfall hunt-whatever it is that restores your peace, it can most likely be found in these mountains.
