Eagles Nest at High Falls is the quintessential escape from it all, nestled on a gorgeous wooded lot and overlooking both the mountains of the Tennessee Valley Divide and the waters of Town Creek. Originally built in 1836, this rustic wood and stone cabin has been restored in an authentic yet modern manner, maintaining some original materials of the home (including the pine and poplar floors) as well as the original character of time period through features like a gorgeous stained glass window and curated antique decor.
Eagles Nest is the perfect space for up to 4 people, with a cozy living room centered around a wood-burning fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and dining space, and 1 grand master bedroom with a king bed custom made from barn wood from the 1800s. A sleeper sofa can sleep 2 additional people. The cabin also has a quiet study off the master and one bathroom.
Outdoors, you will find many spots to relax and soak up the quiet sounds of nature. A large front porch with several rocking chairs is the perfect place to take in the sunset over the mountains, watching for bald eagles swooping around the rim of the valley during the winter and listening to the rushing sound of two waterfalls falling from the mountains around. In the backyard, sink into the hot tub or fire up the gas grill for a delicious home-cooked meal. This is the slow life.
This cabin's charm is all in its historic nature combined with its quiet location. You'll have everything you could need here, from all of the basic kitchen appliances and plenty of linens, to the washing machine/dryer and sufficient parking for a boat or RV. Books and games are also stocked, and if modern life calls to you, a TV and DVD player are also provided.
Eagles Nest at High Falls is located on the property of Restoration Log Cabins along with four other beautifully-restored cabins. 30 minutes from the property is Guntersville, Alabama, with plenty of dining and shopping options. 30 minutes in the other direction is Bucks Pocket State Park and High Falls Park, both with plenty of hiking trails.
Take a spa day in Guntersville, take the boat out for water skiing, or gear up for an adventure like rock climbing, mountaineering, or horseback riding, all in the surrounding area. Sit back with a fishing pole or swing a golf club for a bit. Cycle, hunt, raft, kayak, swim, shop, birdwatch, or waterfall hunt-whatever it is that restores your peace, it can most likely be found in these mountains.

I'm Karen Tillery. I am a Christ following wife and mom of four, a log cabin loving designer and decorator, and the crazy queen of up-cycling everything possible. I am a Birmingham born southern girl and an Auburn University graduate in Graphic Design. My husband and I have lived in Huntsville, AL for 22 years and have raised all 4 of our children here.
