Welcome to The Lodge at Bear Creek Log Cabins — a spacious four-bedroom home nestled on our family’s 196-acre farm near Fort Payne. Built with hand-hewn logs and trimmed with warm wood accents, this two-story lodge blends rustic charm with modern convenience. Vaulted ceilings and large windows let in natural light, while the open floor plan invites families and friends to relax together.
Inside you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave and coffee maker, plus all the pots, pans and dishes you need to cook up family meals. A stone fireplace with gas logs anchors the living area, and central heat and air conditioning keep the lodge comfortable year-round. Two full bathrooms, towels and linens, satellite television, and a washer/dryer provide the comforts of home.
Four private bedrooms feature a king bed, a queen bed, two full-size beds and a sleeper sofa to sleep up to ten guests. Step onto the wrap-around porch to enjoy morning coffee in a rocking chair, or unwind in your own five-person hot tub. With no pets allowed, The Lodge remains an allergy-friendly, impeccably clean retreat for your group.
Our lodge was handcrafted by our family and is the only large-group rental on the property, so you’ll enjoy ample privacy. The generous floor plan, wrap-around porch and vaulted ceiling create plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Enjoy evenings by the rock fireplace, cookouts on the charcoal grill and quiet mornings with coffee on the porch swing.
The Lodge shares the same 196-acre farm as our smaller cabins, meaning you can watch our goats graze, hike our private trails and fish in the pond without ever leaving the property. The combination of log construction, antique furnishings and modern conveniences — including a dishwasher and washer/dryer — make this cabin a one-of-a-kind retreat.
Start your day with coffee on the wrap‑around porch while deer and wild turkeys wander the fields. Spend afternoons exploring our private forest trails and fishing the pond; the goats love visitors, and stargazing around the campfire is a nightly ritual.
Venturing off the farm, you'll find endless adventure. Little River Canyon National Preserve, just minutes away, invites you to hike along the rim and canyon floor, picnic by DeSoto Falls and even kayak, fish or rappel in one of Alabama’s deepest gorges. DeSoto State Park offers more hiking trails, waterfalls and seasonal snow skiing at Cloudmont Ski Resort.
The mountaintop town of Mentone is just up the road with quaint cafes, antique shops, art galleries and craft markets. Make time to browse the shops, cross the historic one‑lane bridge over the West Fork of the Little River and sample locally made jams and fudge. A short drive to Fort Payne brings you to the Alabama Fan Club & Museum and charming downtown filled with antique stores, music venues and restaurants.
For a day trip, follow the Lookout Mountain Parkway to Rock City, Ruby Falls and the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. Along the way you'll discover panoramic overlooks, swimming holes and farm stands. With so much to see and do, you'll want to return year after year.

We held our family Thanksgiving at Bear Creek Log Cabins and loved The Lodge’s spacious floor plan, beautiful hand‑hewn log walls and wrap‑around porch. We explored rock outcroppings, watched the goats, hiked to Little River Canyon Preserve and roasted marshmallows over the firepit. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking and the cabin was clean, comfortable and fully stocked. – The Johnson family, Mobile, AL
What a wonderful getaway! The Lodge had everything we needed from a full kitchen to comfy beds. We loved sitting by the rock fireplace on cool evenings, watching wildlife from the porch swing and fishing in the pond. We can’t wait to return! – Sarah & Michael S., Birmingham, AL
