Jacey’s Cabin is a handcrafted two‑bedroom log cabin built with hand‑hewn timbers on our family’s 196‑acre farm outside Fort Payne. This cozy retreat sleeps six comfortably with a king‑size bed in one bedroom, a queen bed in the second, and a sleeper sofa for extra guests. Inside you’ll find a fully furnished kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, pots and pans along with a coffee maker, microwave, toaster and stove so you can cook family meals with ease.
The cabin features central heat and air conditioning, a rock fireplace with gas logs for winter nights and all the modern comforts you need including satellite television, VCR/DVD player and a washer and dryer. Towels and linens are provided so you can travel light. Step onto your covered back porch to soak in the private five‑person hot tub or grill dinner on the charcoal BBQ and enjoy the view of the rolling hills and woods.
Because Jacey’s Cabin sits on a working farm, you’ll share the landscape with friendly goats and enjoy fishing in the farm pond or wandering along forested trails. When you’re ready to explore, Little River Canyon National Preserve and DeSoto State Park are just minutes away. You’ll love the covered back porch with its private hot tub—a wonderful place to relax after a day of hiking or fishing. Outside there’s a charcoal grill, a campfire pit and picnic table. Being situated on a 196‑acre farm means you have plenty of room to roam, watch goats graze and stargaze free from city lights. There’s simply nothing else like it on Lookout Mountain!
Right outside your cabin door you can walk miles of private trails through open pastures and hardwood forests, visit with our friendly goats, cast a line in the catch‑and‑release pond or gather around the campfire for s’mores and stargazing. Kids love the swing sets and yard games on site, and there’s no better way to start the day than coffee on the porch while watching the mist rise over the pasture.
Little River Canyon National Preserve, just a few miles away, offers spectacular views from Canyon Rim Drive and numerous hiking trails that lead to waterfalls and swimming holes. DeSoto State Park features cascading waterfalls, family‑friendly hikes and a seasonal swimming pool, while the towering DeSoto Falls is a must‑see. In winter, head to Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort for skiing and snowboarding.

Our family loved our stay at Jacey’s Cabin. The king and queen beds were comfortable, and the kids enjoyed visiting the friendly goats and exploring the walking trails around the farm.
